Accounting Clerk
Location: Baltimore, MD
Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site
Compensation: $21-$23/hour DOE
Employment Type: Direct Hire / Permanent
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Baltimore, MD. This is a fully on-site, permanent opportunity supporting the accounting department with a primary focus on cash applications, accounts receivable support, and other general accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of accounting experience and prior experience within the automotive industry is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Accurately post and apply customer payments to customer accounts
- Reconcile daily cash receipts and deposits
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies and unapplied cash
- Support accounts receivable and collections activities as needed
- Assist with account reconciliations and month-end closing tasks
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Process accounting transactions and journal entries
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding payment inquiries
- Generate reports and support audits as requested
- Provide general accounting and administrative support to the finance team
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1+ year of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts receivable, or cash application experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial recordkeeping
- Automotive industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience with CDK software strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Automotive dealership accounting environment
- CDK Drive or related dealership management systems
